Georgia GOP Rivals Tussle For Senate

Daniel Franklin, associate professor of political science, was interviewed for an article about the Georgia primary runoff on July 22 that decided which of two Republicans would win their party’s nomination for the U.S. Senate. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce was supporting U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, spending $2.3 million on campaign ads to back the 59-year-old even though he came in second in the May primary to David Perdue, 64, a former chief executive of Dollar General Corp. and other companies. The Portrayal of Rights in Children’s Literature Teach Important Lessons

Jonathan Todres, a professor of law, wrote an opinion piece about how the portrayal of human rights in children’s literature teaches children important lessons. For instance, P.D. Children who learn about rights exhibit a better understanding of the connections between rights and responsibilities.”
